Fruit Roll Up!

My latest crochet project - I have named it the "Fruit Roll Up". Nice and Juicy Easy project in a totally fun yarn (Rowan Chunky Print). I made it for display at Yarntopia where you can also get the directions on how to make it. Check it out the next time you get a chance to drop into the store in Katy.

Here Comes the Bride

My dd Cheyenne is getting married July 22nd. So we are in a flurry of wedding plans. Including SERIOUS dieting for the mother of the bride....me! (9 down) The invitations are supposed to be in this week. She is having two showers the weekend of June 17th. I have ordered her gifts for the shower... I will not panic, I will not panic (or cry, yet...) Here is a picture of her trying on her "princess" dress.
She is going to be a beautiful bride (of course I'm a little biased!)

Will it go 'Round in Circles?

Remember the song from the '70's (I'm really dating myself now...) that talked about going round in circles? Here's some of the lyrics to remind you...

I've got a song I ain't got no melody
How'm I gonna sing it with my friends
I've got a song I ain't got no melody
How'm I gonna sing it with my friends

Will it go round in circles
Will it fly high like a bird up in the sky
Will it go round in circles
Will it fly high like a bird up in the sky

Well, that's what I kept thinking of, or humming as the case may be, as I was working on Lyn's Round Ripple Afghan. It really got ridiculous because I made 2 of them with a "G" hook! Here are the "boy" and "girl" versions. I love using variegated yarn but after finishing the project, I think I would have liked the "girl" version better if I had used the variegated as the 2nd color choice rather then the middle and outside. The lavender ended up being a "darker" color. I used my favorite for baby afghans, Caron's Simply Soft.

I also made 2 baby washcloths for the brother and sister of the "girl" baby out of Cottontots. Here is the one from the brother - sorry the detail is not as clear as in real life. These Baby Feet Cloth knitted pattern comes from a favorite site of mine from Rhonda K. White. These were made for my mom's neighbor and she is including a yellow rubber ducky and a Mickey Mouse soap for each of the siblings. Too Cute!
