I AM a Happy Hooker...please don't tell my Mom!

I have some exciting news! I was asked by Sheryl of Yarntopia to crochet
a display piece for their new store Yarntopia in Katy, TX. How cool is that?? And it gets even better....I got to pick the pattern and the yarn to make it in.

I decided to pick out a pattern from Debbie Stoller's new book -
Stitch and Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker. I bought it when Yarntopia opened and it really has some of the best instructions for beginners I've seen. As well as some trendy stuff to crochet.

I chose Angela "La Vonne" Best's design of the 'Short 'n Sweet' bolero in a yummy soft cotton and tencel yarn called Classic Elite Premiere in a nice light burnt orange called gourd. Here are a couple of pictures of me modeling the jacket at Yarntopia.

Since I had about half a skein left over and I like headbands, I decided to try my hand at designing a matching headband for the jacket. Here are a picture of the headband and a close-up of the detail. I changed the color of the detail photo to try and show the pattern more, fyi. If you would like the pattern to make one for yourself please post a comment with your email address and I will email it to you. My thanks to Angela "La Vonne" Best for the pattern inspiration!

Hi Bethel - thanks for coming by my blog! I wasn't sure where to answer you, so here I am! I got my weight loss ticker at TickerFactory.com. It's pretty step-by-step and easy.

You know my favorite girls Amylovie and Sheryl?! Someday I hope to make it to Texas to meet them personally!

BTW - what a beautiful name you have!
